Bonanza was one of the very first Westerns that could have a color version of the broadcast. The film focused on the Cartwrights who were a fictional family of ranchers living in close proximity to Virginia City Nevada a real mining town during the latter part of the 1800s. His character was that of the Cartwright's youngest son, who's mom Marie (in the first episode, and later Felicia) had been widowed and her daughter had died of illness.
